Why don't more places like this exist? My husband took me here for my 40th birthday. I was so pleased with the service, the wine list, the entree selection and to top it off the Chocolate Soufflé was to die for! I opted for the Mac and Cheese with my entree and practically licked my plate! You will most likely drive right by it. As it is invisible from the street with just a simple blue awning. But if you can find your way there you will be pleasantly filled and treated with vegan love.

So good. So nice. I can't begin to tell you.
Waiter was wonderful, restaurant was spotless. Portions were gigantic. Prices were really low in my opinion for such a quality environment. I can't wait to go back ~or eat the leftovers tomorrow. ~JC in Encino

Madeleine's is amazing! simply amazing.
having eaten there twice now, everything about the restaurant is an experience. The one type of vegan cuisine that LA has been lacking is upscale, and this is the place. the menu is creative, the wait-staff are knowledgeable, and willing to make suggestions, explain what a certain dish is like, and on both trips there have really made the experience just right.
the red beet tartar is fantastic, you just have to try it, i can't explain, it just is. At brunch today the waitress recommended Beignets that are served with something akin to apple butter, they were fantastic. as for main meals, the menu is very broad in scope, and i suspect every item on it would be a treat. The chicken-fried seitan with mashed potatoes would be a good place to start if you needed a recommendation for dinner ;)

Just looking at the picture of the Red Beet Tartare from Madeleine Bistro makes me want to cry out for joy. That may sounds a little dramatic to those of you who have not eaten there yet. For those of you who have, you understand my excitement. Up until recently, vegans in Los Angeles had only Sante La Brea or Real Food Daily to take their dates for a nice dinner. Madeleine Bistro is a huge step up and, honestly, the BEST food I’ve ever eaten in my life. This restaurant has really raised the bar for vegan food in L.A. The owners have promised an ever changing menu, so I can’t wait to go back again and see what’s new!
